Hanging libraries for three government schools under Pungro Block and two government schools under Khongsa Aspirational Block were distributed on October 29, 2024, at EBRC Hall, Pungro Town.

Donated by Books For All (BFA) Noida, this collaborative initiative by the Piramal Foundation (Aspirational Bharat Collaborative) and EBRC Pungro aims to instill a love for reading in children and improve learning outcomes.

Hanrenla, Coordinator of EBRC Pungro Block, expressed appreciation for BFA Noida and the Piramal Foundation, stating, “The value of reading in children’s education is enormous. Reading encourages several skills in children, such as language, vocabulary growth, and creativity.” She emphasized the importance of making a library of books accessible to children during their developmental stages and urged teachers to fully utilize the hanging libraries.

Lithsa from the Piramal Foundation (ABC) shared that the initiative’s vision is to foster a reading culture, with these small libraries of storybooks and rhymes specifically targeted at primary and middle school students. She hoped this initiative would cultivate the habit of reading among the children.
