Mokokchung, October 13 (MTNews): The Department of Economics and Department of Management Studies, C-Edge College, in collaboration with the Department of Economics, Unity College, Dimapur, on October 21, 2022, hosted a one-day national seminar sponsored by NABARD on the “Prospects and Challenges of Inclusive Growth in the NorthEast Region with a Special Focus on Agripreneurship.”

 

 

 

Dr. Chubatola Aier, Principal of C-Edge College, in her welcome speech acknowledged NABARD, Tiala Ao, GM of Unity College, resource persons, paper presenters, and all participants for their efforts in making the seminar a success.

 

She emphasized that focusing on agriculture is vital because it is generating a new level of urgency for development. She went on to say that in such cases, unless academicians, researchers, and experts who study trends and understand the issues at hand are able to translate their knowledge and findings into actual action and production, it would essentially be just academic talk with no harvest.

 

Dr. S. Prakash, Associate Professor of Sri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi, the Keynote Speaker at the inaugural program began with an introduction to entrepreneurs and agripreneurs, as well as how to understand business opportunities.

 

He focused on identifying entrepreneurs in the North East and how entrepreneurial personality affects the kind of business person one becomes. Dr. Prakash stressed on the challenges of the high rate of unemployment in North East India.

 

He emphasized on the importance of opportunities such as the Digital North East: Vision 2022 introduced by the Government of India and the scope of agri-business in the region by focusing on the strategies for agripreneurship development in NER.

 

The technical sessions were divided into three tracks on the sub-themes namely, Finance and Banking and on Marketing and Entrepreneurship. There were fifteen paper presenters from all over India who delivered their research findings on the sub-themes through both online and offline mode.
