State government, religious leaders, and citizens join forces to uphold National unity and security
In response to the Indian Armed Forces’ recent Operation Sindoor, which neutralized terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), an emergency meeting was convened in Kohima on Saturday, the Raj Bhavan said in a statement. The meeting, led by the Governor and the Chief Minister of Nagaland, brought together top state government officials, security forces, and religious and community leaders to express solidarity with the nation’s defense forces and reinforce Nagaland’s commitment to national unity and security.
The resolutions adopted at the meeting include a firm declaration of support for India’s Armed Forces. “We solemnly express our unequivocal solidarity with our Armed Forces and the national leadership under the guidance of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. We salute the bravery, sacrifice, and professionalism of our soldiers in safeguarding our nation against all threats,” the resolution read.
Religious leaders in Nagaland were also urged to play an active role in promoting national unity. “Religious leaders are urged to conduct special prayer meetings across Nagaland to invoke divine protection for our soldiers, national leaders, and the nation’s well-being,” the resolution emphasized. Additionally, they were encouraged to use sermons and public dialogues to foster awareness about the importance of upholding national unity.
The resolution also called on all citizens to remain vigilant against misinformation and divisive narratives, urging them to “verify information through official government and military channels before dissemination” and to strictly adhere to safety protocols and legal directives issued by the government.
Furthermore, the youth of Nagaland were encouraged to actively participate in initiatives that strengthen national pride and resilience. “All citizens, particularly the youth, are encouraged to actively participate in initiatives that strengthen national pride, unity, and resilience against threats to our country,” the resolution concluded.
The meeting concluded with a firm commitment to stand in solidarity with India’s defense forces, emphasizing Nagaland’s determination to contribute to national security and unity during these challenging times.
