Kohima, 19 December (MTNews): The Government of Nagaland has issued a notification, in alignment with the Cabinet’s approval (vide No. CAB-1/14/2023 Dt.09.11.2023), aimed at streamlining the efficient development of National Highway projects within the state.

Under the new directive, Land Compensation and Damage Compensation will now be provided to individual and community landowners for the construction of all National Highway Roads declared by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) in Nagaland.

This notification extends to the acquisition of land required for National Highway projects and additional land/Right of Way (ROW) essential for development beyond the existing roads in the present National Highways. It replaces the previous directive, D.O No. CSO/W&H/GEN-1/2020 Dated.06.08.2020, and the Minutes of the Meeting held on 20.11.2018, issued vide WH/NH-39/2007/177 Dated Nil. Nov. 2018.

“The notification is effective immediately,” it added.
