Kohima, 23 February (MTNews): The felicitation ceremony for the NCC Band Cadets from Nagaland, who participated in the Republic Day Parade 2024, was held today at Dr. Imkongliba Ao Hall, Raj Bhavan, with Governor La. Ganesan as the Special Guest. The event was organized by the Department of Youth Resources & Sports and NCC GP Kohima.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor expressed his delight at the impressive performance delivered by the NCC girls’ band during the ceremony. He extended his congratulations to the 31 cadets from Nagaland, emphasizing that participating in the Republic Day Parade is a dream for every NCC cadet, and they have achieved this aspiration. Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio shared his joy at witnessing the NCC cadets of Nagaland make history by being part of the first-ever NCC Girls Brass Band to march on Kartvya Path during the Republic Day celebrations. He acknowledged the pivotal role played by the NCC in shaping the youth into responsible citizens of the nation. He also celebrated the moment of pride for the state as Naga Girl Ruyangunuo Kense led the Delhi Police during the Republic Day Parade.
During the ceremony, the Governor presented Certificates of Appreciation to all the cadets for their outstanding achievement.
