Kohima, September 29 (MTNews): Following the union government’s directive, the Government of Nagaland has declared the Popular Front of India (PFI) and its associates or affiliates or fronts, including Rehab India Foundation (RIF), Campus Front of India (CFI), All India Imams Council (AIIC), National Confederation of Human Rights Organization (NCHRO), National Women’s Front, Junior Front, Empower India Foundation and Rehab Foundation, Kerela as unlawful associations. This comes as a follow-up of Union Home Ministry’s order yesterday banning the PFI for a period of five years.
Chief Secretary Nagaland, J. Alam in an order issued on behalf of the Governor of Nagaland stated that the Central Government under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, has declared the PFI and its associates or affiliates or fronts, as unlawful association and has directed that the Commissioner of Police, the District Magistrates, and the Deputy Commissioners shall exercise the powers accordingly.
