Nagaland pushes investor outreach, scheme

The initiative combined a capacity-building program on the UNNATI 2024 scheme with an investor and industry outreach session under SAMVAD, bringing together government officials, banks, financial institutions, entrepreneurs and prospective investors.

The first day of the program focused on improving understanding of the UNNATI scheme and its implementation process. Officials from DPIIT conducted technical sessions on claim application procedures, portal-based filing, document verification, processing stages, and common reasons for delays and rejection of claims. The session also included interactive discussions and case-based guidance aimed at improving efficiency in scheme delivery.

On the second day, a joint review meeting between DPIIT and the State Industries & Commerce Department discussed implementation challenges related to key industrial schemes, including the North East Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy (NEIIPP), the North East Industrial Development Scheme (NEIDS) and UNNATI 2024.

Officials also reviewed issues affecting ease of doing business and the effectiveness of existing investment facilitation mechanisms in the state.

This was followed by the SAMVAD (Investor and Industry Outreach) program, where discussions centered on investment opportunities in Nagaland, institutional support for industries, and measures to address challenges faced by entrepreneurs and investors.

Government officials said the initiative reflects continued efforts to improve industrial readiness in the state and strengthen coordination between the Centre and Nagaland in promoting investment and enterprise development.
