Mokokchung, 26 December (MTNews): The Nagaland Tribal Youth Organisation (NTYO) has strongly condemned the extortion demand of Rs 50 lakh issued by the NSCN/GPRN (Khango) against Aolemba Longkumer, a prominent entrepreneur and resident of 7th Mile, Chümoukedima.

In a press statement dated December 26, 2024, the NTYO Coordination Committee criticized the act as a culture of threat and intimidation that has no place in a civilized society.

“The NTYO vehemently condemns the shameless nature of the self styled group in the highest term,” the statement read. The organization reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining peace and tranquility and vowed to stand firm against illegal taxation and extortion practices.

The NTYO also urged law enforcement agencies to take swift action against the perpetrators, ensuring the safety and security of Longkumer as his right to personal life and liberty has been hampered by the demand and threat notice.

The statement was signed by NTYO convenor Vetho Vadeo, co-convenor RN David Magh, ans secretary Vitsikolie Kehie.
