Kohima, 5 June (MTNews): The Nagaland Wushu Association (NWA) has announced the conduction of a selection trial on June 13 (Tuesday) at the IG Stadium in Kohima. The purpose of this trial is to select the best players to represent Nagaland in the upcoming 32nd Senior National Wushu Championship 2023 scheduled to take place from 26 June to 1 July 2023 in Pune, Maharashtra.

 

In a press release, the NWA outlined the weight categories for the selection trial. For men, the weight categories include 48kg, 52kg, 56kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg, 85kg, and 90kg+. For women, the weight categories are 45kg, 48kg, 52kg, 56kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, and 75kg.

 

It was informed that only the best player in each category will be selected for participation.

 

The association stated that the gold medal winners in this National championship will automatically qualify to the National Games 2023 scheduled in the last week of October and first week of November 2023 at Goa.

 

In this regard, all affiliated units have been requested to prepare players for selection trials. The players list should be submitted to Nagaland Wushu Association office in person or whatsapp to 9863238620 or 9916580774 latest by 12th June.
