Lenti Aier from Nagaland has received the State University of New York Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence 2026, the highest student honour conferred by the university system. The award ceremony was held on April 27 at Albany Capital Center.

Aier was recognised for outstanding academic achievement and significant contributions to the university community. The Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence is presented to exceptional students across SUNY’s network of 64 colleges and universities in New York.
The honour recognises students who demonstrate excellence in multiple areas, including academics, leadership, diversity and inclusion, research and development, campus involvement, civic engagement, public service, and the creative or performing arts. It also celebrates students who lead by example, contribute to their campus communities, and use their talents to inspire others.
Lenti Aier is currently a student at Empire State University in Saratoga Springs.

The recognition marks a significant achievement for Aier and brings pride to Nagaland, highlighting the accomplishments of students from the state on international academic platforms.
