The Minority Affairs Department of Nagaland has announced several major initiatives aimed at supporting women, promoting sports, and improving infrastructure across the state. These projects include the construction of a Multi-Disciplinary Sports Complex at Naga Ki Global City in Chumoukedima (Phase-I), three Women Entrepreneurship Facilitation Centers in Kohima, Mokokchung, and Tuensang districts, and a Library-cum-Conference Hall in Zunheboto District.

Looking ahead, the department plans additional projects, including a Holy Land Tour to Israel, a new Directorate building at Thizama, and the development of marketing sheds and public amenities.

Governor La Ganesan shared these updates during the 6th session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly.

In a related effort, the Women Resources Development Department is working to protect and promote Nagaland’s rich textile heritage through the Protection and Promotion of Tribal Designs Project. This initiative aims to preserve traditional and modern textile designs. The department has selected five beneficiaries from each of the state’s 17 major tribes to receive training in weaving on the Fly Shuttle Loom, in collaboration with the Weavers Service Centre, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, based in Dimapur.

Additionally, the department has launched the Myki Village Adoption Initiative at Khonoma Village, further supporting community and cultural preservation.
