Nature SBI Foundation, in collaboration with Assam Rifles, organised an awareness camp on communicable and non-communicable diseases at Good Shepherd High School, Kiphire, on July 28. The programme was attended by the school authority, teachers, students and representatives.

The session began with a welcome song by students, followed by an awareness talk by Dr Pritam Das, Assistant Commandant and ARMO, Assam Rifles. He described health as a state of “complete physical, mental and social well-being” and explained the causes and prevention of communicable and non-communicable diseases.
Dr Das advised students to avoid raw or uncooked food, consume freshly prepared meals and safe drinking water, maintain personal hygiene and keep their surroundings clean. He also stressed regular exercise, adequate water intake and reduced salt consumption to prevent hypertension and other lifestyle-related diseases.
The Staff Nurse of Nature SBI Foundation highlighted handwashing, balanced nutrition, adequate sleep, physical activity and timely vaccination. Students were encouraged to seek medical care when unwell and share healthy practices with their families.
The interactive session saw students actively participating and asking questions. Longtili C. Sangtam, Project Lead, Nature SBI Foundation Nagaland, delivered the vote of thanks.
