Mokokchung, August 29 (MTNews):The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE), in continuation of the office Notification No.35/2022, dated 5th May 2022, reminded the Heads of all Registered Institutions under NBSE that as decided in the 3rd National Task Force meeting held on 24/06/2022, all schools are requested to organize awareness campaigns to eliminate identified single-use plastics items and effective implementation of Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016.

 

The identified single use plastics include ear buds with plastic sticks, plastic sticks for balloons, plastic flags, candy sticks, ice-cream sticks, polystyrene for decoration, plastic bags, plastic water bottles, plastic straws, plastic plates, plastic cups, plastic spoons, plastic knives, plastic stirrers, food packaging containers, wrapping or packing films around sweet boxes, invitation cards and cigarette packets, plastic or PVC banners less than 100 microns.

 

In this regard, the NBSE has directed all the registered institutions to apprise the students as well as the parents and the community about the awareness campaigns and to take measures in practicing plastic free environment and advocate elimination of single use plastic items.
