Phek, 22 May (MTNews): The Phek District Nagaland Contractors and Suppliers Union (NCSU) has demanded a High-Level Technical Committee to verify the ongoing work of the road upgrade from Chozuba town to the PWD Office and Agri to the Yoruba-Ighanumi junction.

In a release today, the Union stated that it had inspected the road stretch on 17 May following complaints from the public via social media platforms about substandard work being carried out by the contractor.

The Union noted that the contractor had not appointed a site engineer as mandated. It further stated that the clarification claiming that the work was in accordance with technical specifications was also untrue. In light of these issues, the NCSU, Phek urged the government to appoint a High-Level Technical Committee at the earliest for on-the-spot verification in the presence of the public and Union members.

Additionally, the Union requested the government to withhold pending bills until the matter is rectified and the work is carried out strictly in accordance with technical specifications.
