The installation program for the office bearers of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party, Mokokchung Region, for the tenure 2021-2024, was held at JAV (Just A Venue), Mokokchung, Saturday.

Addressing the program, Nagaland Minister of Rural Development, Metsübo Jamir, who is also the Minister in-charge of the NDPP Mokokchung Region, allegorized the NDPP as a party that “the people have sown the seed and are now reaping the fruit,” stating that the relatively new party founded in 2017 now has 42 MLAs and has surpassed the NPF, the state’s oldest regional party.

Jamir also emphasized that the pandemic was to blame for the NDPP-led UDA Government’s inability to make the best of its administration through its tenure, noting that the Covid-19 pandemic had damaged the national economy, resulting in a reduction in developmental funding from the centre.

Jamir also asked party members to work together and coordinate their efforts, putting aside each other’s flaws and being truthful in order to strengthen the party.

Sharingain Longkumer, Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly, also exhorted the party men and women to contribute and engage in whatever capacity they could and to work together to bring about change and progress.

“Have hope in our party, give hope to our fellow brothers and sisters, and let us make hope for our people,” he said while also stressing that the party’s roots, strength and ideology is a collective contribution of one another.

Imnatiba Jamir, Member of Legislative Assembly and Advisor, encouraged the people to have a defined political philosophy, a feeling of duty through participating in the system, and to be strong and unified.

“To promote progress, we need to know all the features and schemes in each and every department,” the advisor stated, adding that in order to fully utilize the system, one must take advantage of the various schemes offered in different departments of the government.

Tongpang Ozukum, Minister of Housing and Mechanical, also urged the party’s men and women to stand together while becoming more devoted and stronger. He also stated that all party members must take the party and the administration seriously and contribute to the system.

Earlier, the program was chaired by Lipokzulu, Vice President of the NDPP Mokokchung Region, and the welcome address was delivered by N.
