Mokokchung, May 20 (MTNews): A delegation of Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem (MTLT) led by President Imnaonen Pongen and General Secretary ImkongchubaPongen called on former Governor and former Chief Minister, Dr SC Jamir at his private residence at Arkong Ward here today.
The MTLT President Imnaonen Pongen, while introducing the delegation, said that the MTLT officials who had recently taken charge for a new tenure, had always wanted to visit the Dr. Jamir to seek his blessings, his advice and guidance as the new team takes on the newer responsibilities in the society.
The veteran politician warmly received the youth delegation and candidly shared about the present socio-political scenario of Nagaland state.
He said that the youths, as the future and hope of the society, should be very conscientious and study the happenings that is going around in the society. He strongly urged the MTLT to be an agent of change especially with regard to clean election matters so that capable leaders are elected to the legislative assembly. In this regard, he urged the MTLT to take the clean election in a practical manner, make a commitment not to be induced by money, and to ensure that the most capable ones are elected.
Moreover, he also urged the MTLT to look at the future and to envision how the youths can excel in education so that the best engineers, the best doctors, academicians etc. can be produced so that they would be an asset to the society.
