Kiphire, 20 September: Akehda Amulung held a coordination meeting with the Village Council and elders of Shishimi Village, Kiphire district, on September 19 to discuss the upcoming inaugural programme of a beekeeping training initiative for livelihood promotion.
The training programme is funded by the North Eastern Council (NEC) and implemented by Akehda Amulung, Kiphire. The inaugural programme is tentatively scheduled for September 26 at Shishimi Village.
During the meeting, the Council Chairman and Head Gaon Bura of Shishimi Village expressed gratitude for the initiative, stating that the programme would benefit the village. They also expressed hope for a successful partnership between the implementing organisation and the community.
Longtili C. Sangtam, Founder of Akehda Amulung, said the programme aims to create additional income opportunities for the people of Shishimi Village. He said beekeeping could provide a sustainable source of income while strengthening local livelihoods.
He further stated that the project would be monitored by Akehda Amulung CEO Irothe T. Sangtam, who would oversee its implementation and progress.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment among Akehda Amulung, the Village Council and village elders to work together for the successful implementation of the programme and the promotion of sustainable livelihood opportunities in the village.
