The Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) has appealed to the State Government and the PWD (R&B) to initiate the Foothills Road construction without further delay, citing the urgency of the working season. The committee warned that postponing the execution of the “People’s Project” could have costly consequences and emphasized that “Merrymaking should not surpass the developmental activities which are very crucial for all-round Economic Development of the state”.
NFHRCC said that, after struggling for eleven years, the project has finally been brought under SASCI (Special Assistance to State for Capital Investment) through the initiative of the State government as well as the committee. As such, the NFHRCC said that there is no reason to delay executing the “people’s project.”
The committee further stated that they have made it very clear that if the government or the concerned department encounters any opposition from individuals, unions, or organizations, such issues should be referred to the committee. It assured that it is fully prepared to address any challenges to ensure the smooth execution of this historic project.
Therefore, keeping in view of the above facts and circumstances, the NFHRCC appealed to the popular government and concerned department to immediately start the ‘Historic Project’ which it said is yearned by the Nagas for more than six decades.
