Kohima, 22 March (MTNews): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has strongly criticized the recent action taken by the BJP-led government to freeze the bank accounts of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), Indian Youth Congress (IYC), and National Students’ Union of India (NSUI).

In a statement, the NPCC emphasized that India is the largest democracy in the world but such an undemocratic action by the BJP is “only killing the values of democracy”. The NPCC accused the BJP’s action of making an effort to keep itself supreme over all the political parties in the country.

The NPCC claimed that freezing the bank accounts of the Congress is a “move to paralyze the functioning of the Party” in all aspects, especially to fight the elections.

“It also exposes the fear of the BJP and its allies to win the elections in a free and fair process,” it added.

Khriedi Theünuo, Working President of NPCC demanded immediate release of the bank accounts of the Congress Party so that the democratic values are upheld in the true spirit.
