Dimapur, February 25 (MTNews): Naga People’s Front President Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu in an interview with The Print has said that the Naga people are not happy with Delhi over the continued irresolution of the Naga political issue.

“Frankly, the Naga people are not happy with Delhi (on the political issue). Delhi is not serious about solving the issue. If they were, they would not have signed two agreements — one with the NSCN (IM) in 2015 which is known as the framework agreement, and then again one with the Naga National Political Groups which comprised seven different factions in 2017,” he was quoted by the Print.

Leizeietsu also accused the BJP of changing ever since they came to power.

“We had been BJP allies for more than ten years and we stood by them when they were in the opposition in Delhi because that is what we do. But the BJP changed after they came to power in Delhi,” he told The Print.

Regarding the BJP-NDPP confidence of winning in thumping majority, the NPF president said that despite the BJP-NDPP belief that they can form a government on their own, it is too early to talk about the government.

He also said that the Congress might even win more seats than the NPF although he thinks these are all presumptions.

Both the NPF and the Congress are contesting in 23 seats each for the February 27 poll.
