The National Socialist Council of Nagalim – Isak-Muivah (NSCN-IM) is set to celebrate its 46th Republic Day at the Council Headquarters in Hebron on March 21, 2025. The event will be graced by Vilanuo Angela Yhome, President of the Naga Mothers’ Association, as the Guest of Honor. Members from the Tirap Changlang Longding Peoples’ Forum will also be in attendance.

In his Republic Day address, NSCN-IM General Secretary Th Muivah expressed gratitude to the ranks and files of the organization for reaffirming the collective leadership of the NSCN. “For every generation, God chooses a person within His will and purpose. And for Nagalim, God chose leaders like Uncle Phizo and Imkongmeren at the right time,” Muivah said, emphasizing the inalienable right of the Naga people to decide their own future.

Muivah, who described his leadership role alongside the late Isak Chishi Swu and Khadao Yanthan as a proud chapter in Naga history, reiterated the unwavering commitment to Nagalim’s freedom and sovereignty.

“The right to decide one’s own freedom is the sovereign right of the Naga people given by God Almighty. This sovereign birthright is non-negotiable,” he added.

Acknowledging the contributions of freedom fighters such as Thinoselie M. Keyho, Capt. Phungtha, President Scato Swu, and Ato Kilonser Sukhai, Muivah extended his gratitude to all Naga tribes, civil societies, and the international community for their support of the Naga national independence movement.

The NSCN-IM General Secretary further stated that despite setbacks in the ongoing political negotiations, Nagalim’s unique history and sovereignty have been recognized through the Amsterdam Joint Communiqué of 2002 and the Framework Agreement of 2015. “The final political agreement shall be a negotiated settlement that reflects the spirit of the Amsterdam Joint Communiqué and the Framework Agreement,” Muivah assured.
