Sechu Zubza FC delivered a commanding 4-1 win over Frontier Warriors FC in Matchday 13 of the Nagaland Super League (NSL) at IG Stadium, Kohima on Wednesday. The win lifts Sechu Zubza to 5th place, keeping their playoff hopes alive, while Frontier Warriors FC remains at the bottom of the table.
Sechu Zubza took the lead in the 36th minute through Limakumzak, setting the tone for the match. Just before halftime, Amun Munsaham (45+1′) doubled their advantage, but Tsalichem responded immediately for Frontier Warriors FC, reducing the deficit.
In the 50th minute, Pursunep restored Sechu Zubza’s two-goal cushion. Limakumzak (80′) sealed the win with his second goal of the night.
Keviseikho Masalhou (Sechu Zubza FC) was named Player of the Match for his defensive stability and contribution to his team’s momentum.
Chümoukedima: NSL matches disrupted by lightning, rescheduled
NSL Match Day 13 at Chümoukedima Football Stadium on March 12, 2025, was disrupted due to severe lightning and heavy rain, which damaged the stadium’s floodlights and infrastructure.
The ongoing match between Nagaland United SC and Longterok FC was suspended for 30 minutes for technical repairs but was later abandoned. Per AIFF regulations, the match will resume on March 13 at 9 AM from the exact game time and conditions when play was stopped.
The second match between Barak FC and 27 United FC was also postponed and is now rescheduled for 12:30 PM at the same venue.
The NSL Governing Body has confirmed that all other league fixtures remain unchanged. Tickets from March 12 will remain valid for the rescheduled matches.
The league expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and thanked fans and stakeholders for their patience and support during the unexpected weather disruption.
Official communiqué issued by NSL:
- The NSL Match Day 13 at Chümoukedima Football Stadium on 12th March, 2025 could not be completed and played due to natural calamity factors. Severe lightning during heavy downpours struck the stadium floodlights which resulted in damage to stadium infrastructures.
- The actual extent of the damages caused will be fully known only after the technical engineers and implementing company of the facility are able to asses the facilities after a full technical study. This is expected to take place in the next 48 hours.
- As a result of the natural calamity, the ongoing match between Nagaland United SC and Longterok FC was called off.
- This match will resume as per the AIFF regulations at 9AM at 13.03.2025 at the same venue. The Match was automatically suspended for the duration of thirty (30) minutes to allow technical repairs or restorations. After the completion of the stipulated 30 minutes of stoppage, the Referee declared the Match as Abandoned for the day.
- In view of the above, The NSL Governing Body in consultation with the match officials and technical committee has decided that the Matches shall be recommenced and rescheduled.
- The Match between Longterok FC vs Nagaland United SC shall recommence with the same score at the minute and seconds at which play was stopped.
- The match shall recommence under the same condition and situation at which the match was stopped, meaning the original players and substitutes list, the sanctions imposed, the conditions of substitutions and any other factor will remain the same and the match shall resume without any changes to the match situation.
- The second match which was to be played between Barak FC vs 27 United FC was also not played due to the natural calamity situation. This match has been reschedule for 12:30 PM at the same venue – Chumoukedima Football Stadium on 13.03.2025.
- The rest of the Nagaland Super League schedule remains unchanged
- The Match Day tickets for Chümoukedima Football Stadium dated 12th March, 2025 will be valid for the
recommencement and rescheduled match at the same venue on 13th March, 2025.
