Mokokchung, January 17 (MTNews): The Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) and the Nagaland GB Federation (NGBF) have on Tuesday appealed to the two splintered groups of NSCN-K (Khango-Isac) to reconcile and unite urgently.

In a joint appeal, the NTC and NGBF reminded every cadre of the group to “give importance to the common cause of the Nagas rather than giving due importance to its own.”

Further, the two organizations reminded the group “not to ever undermine the efforts made by the Nagas as a whole to attain the expected peace in our land, and the group in question must not become the obstacle to the process of peace.”

The NTC and NGBF said that Naga people have been “passing the most crucial period at the moment in view of the fate of the Naga political solution which remains elusive despite the negotiations having attained its 26th year.”

While every right thinking Naga seemed to be serious about the outcome of the concluded negotiations, the two organizations said that the dissension within the recently split NSCN/GPRN (K) (Khango-Isac) group is shocking.

“When this group is one of the members of the Working Committee of 7 NNPGs, what audacity it has to wrangle over any issue which is considered to be more important than the Naga political negotiation and its end result,” it asked.

“Any committed cadre of any group, and whoever considers himself to be a patriot, is not expected to stoop low to indulge in mindless gimmicks by wasting valuable times at the cost of the Naga interest,” the NTC and N NGBF TC asserted.

The two organizations further said that if any Naga Nationalist places oneself above the common cause, “one has to know that he is misplaced in his position.”

“It is unbecoming on the part of the group in particular to dent the spirit of the negotiators in particular and of the Naga in general as if such internal bickering can fetch greater dividend to the Nagas,” the joint appeal read.
