After three years since the release of his Christmas song “Pelatepang,” Opang Jamir, frontman of the Nagaland band Avancer, has released his latest Christmas track, “Mongpu Tsüngtsüng Ola,” on December 14. The song is now available on his official YouTube channel (@OpangJamir) and will also be accessible on Spotify.
“Mongpu Tsungtsung Ola” conveys a message of hope, unity, and reconciliation. Jamir also emphasizes the value of cherishing life’s simple beauties — from the nostalgic chime of bells to the joy on children’s faces. Through this, he reminds listeners that the true essence of Christmas lies in unity, love, and shared experiences,” an update received here said.
“The track aims to uplift spirits and rekindle the essence of Christmas cheer, making it a perfect addition to this year’s holiday playlist. As the festive season approaches, this song stands as a musical greeting — a timeless reminder of the spirit of Christmas for you and your family,” it added.
This festive release is a collaborative project. The lyrics were written by Jongpongtemsu Longkumer, the vocalist of Hailinator, while Bendangtuba Longkumer brought the visual storytelling to life. The melody was composed by Jamir and Vitz Zhimo, with Vitz also handling the production, mixing, and mastering.
