Minister for Health and Family Welfare P Paiwang Konyak on Thursday visited flood-hit Tizit to assess the situation on the ground and assured that relief materials would reach the affected areas once road connectivity is restored.

Addressing government officials, NGOs, civil society organisations and student bodies at the ADC’s Conference Hall in Tizit, the Minister commended the collective efforts of all stakeholders who have been assisting affected families since the floods struck the area.
Acknowledging the challenges posed by damaged roads, Paiwang assured that medicines, food and other essential relief materials would be dispatched to Tizit as soon as access is restored.
During the visit, the Minister also extended personal assistance to some of the worst-affected areas, including Tizit Town, Lapa Lampong and the Greenply area, by donating food grains and financial aid. He further assured continued support for relief and rehabilitation efforts.
Appealing for greater public participation in the relief effort, Paiwang urged well-wishers, organisations and individuals to come forward and contribute in whatever way they can to help families affected by the disaster.
Tizit is among the worst-hit areas in Mon district following days of incessant rainfall that triggered widespread flooding, landslides and damage to roads and infrastructure, disrupting connectivity and affecting hundreds of residents.
