Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton has refused to accept the Land Resources Department being allotted to him in the recent minor reshuffle. In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister, Patton said that he was “contented” even without the additional assignment. In a minor reshuffle announced on Saturday, Patton, who is state’s Home minister, was relieved of the Roads and Bridges department and reassigned the same to NDPP legislator Chuba Chang. In the meantime, he was allotted the Land Resources portfolio which was earlier held by P Paiwang Konyak, who is also minister of Transport, Railways & Civil Aviation. “It is an honour and great privilege to serve our people as a member in the Council of Ministers headed by you and I look forward to work in close coordination till such time I enjoy the confidence of your good self and the BJP Party,” Patton added.
