The closing programme of Poshan Pakhwada 2026, which began on April 9 under the theme “Maintaining Brain Development in the First 6 Years of Life,” was held on April 23 at the DC’s Conference Hall, Mokokchung, organised by the Department of Social Welfare, Mokokchung.

Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, in his speech appreciated the efforts of officials and workers of the department for successfully undertaking activities under various schemes and policies. He encouraged them to continue working with the same spirit for the welfare of society.

He also stressed the importance of child development and the role of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) in enhancing awareness on nutrition, and requested all ASHA and Anganwadi workers to activate their centres more effectively.

The Deputy Commissioner also presented the Best Performing Anganwadi Worker awards to Sashilemla, Anganwadi Worker, Changtongya Village Centre (C) under Changtongya ICDS Project, and Lanusangla, Anganwadi Worker, Anungchen Centre, Khar Village, under Mangkolemba ICDS Project.

Earlier, Arienla, Supervisor, Ongpangkong North, chaired the programme. Imliyanger, District Programme Officer, ICDS, delivered the welcome address, while Meyalemla, CDPO of Ongpangkong North, gave a brief highlight on the 8th Poshan Pakhwada 2026. The vote of thanks was proposed by Sunepwapang, CDPO, Ongpangkong South.
