Mokokchung, August 16 (MTNews): Taking into account the traffic congestion on the roads leading to Queen Mary Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung during the peak hours, and in order to regulate the traffic in an orderly way and ensure smooth flow of traffic between the main traffic Police Point and Tongdentsuyong via QMHSS and Ledenpang Sector during the peak hours, the school authority has informed that a one-way system will introduced with effect from August 18, 2022. The one-way traffic system will be between 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM and 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM with the road from the main traffic Police Point as the entry and Tongdentsuyong/Ledenpang as exit points.

 

Principal of QMHSS, Fr. Sajimon informed in a press release that the decision to this effect was made by the School Management Board in consultation with the Superintendent of Police, Senior Traffic Police officials, and Chairmen of Tongdentsuyoung Ward, Ledenpang Sector and Mokokchung Village Council and members of Mokokchung Senso Mungdang.

 

All the staff, students, parents/guardians and all other commuters has been requested to take note of the new traffic guidelines, issued in the larger interest of the public, parents and students, and to strictly comply with the new traffic regulations.

 

“Any unforeseen inconveniences caused as result of introducing one-way traffic system especially to individuals and families around the School are deeply regretted and the joint Traffic committee appeals to everyone to cooperate with the new arrangement for enabling free flow of traffic and ensure safety and protection of all the stakeholders,” the press release added.
