Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) President Supongmeren Jamir addressing a press conference in Mokokchung today shed light on the Congress party’s commitments for the state of Nagaland.  Although Jamir said the NPCC manifesto will be released after the filing of nomination, Jamir revealed key assurances put forth by Rahul Gandhi.

Jamir underscored Gandhi’s pledge of 25 guarantees tailored to Nagaland’s needs, promising their diligent implementation should the Congress or INDIA bloc come to power. Central to these guarantees is the resolution of the longstanding Naga political problem.

Addressing another critical concern, Jamir reiterated the party’s commitment to addressing job reservation issues seriously, while also mentioning that a special budget for SC/ST will be announced.

Furthermore, Jamir outlined the Congress’s proposed initiatives to bolster the state’s economy, including incentives for entrepreneurs and farmers. He also announced plans to revert the National Pension Scheme for the about 33,000 affected Nagas back to the Old Pension Scheme.

Jamir disclosed plans for a One Lakh Cash Transfer program targeted at assisting impoverished women. Additionally, he unveiled proposals for enhanced security measures for gig economy workers such as food delivery, baby sitter etc., encompassing incentives and pension schemes to safeguard their livelihoods.
