Tuensang, July 16 (MTNews): Tuensang Chamber of Commerce & Industries (TCCI) in collaboration with Tuensang Town Council (TTC) organized a seminar on Single-Use Plastic and waste segregation at GHSS auditorium, Tuensang on July 16 with ADC and Administrator Tuensang Town Council Thungchanbemo Tungoe as resource person.

The seminar was attended by members of All Wards Union Tuensang, shopkeepers, and shop owners of Tuensang, stated a DIPR report.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Tungoe appreciated the effort of the Chamber of Commerce & Industries, its cooperative and proactive role towards cleaner and greener Tuensang. “Everyone should follow government orders and directives so that each stakeholder can work together fruitfully towards the common agenda,” he added.

 

He mentioned 19 Single-Use Plastic items that the government has banned and explained with a demo. He also explained its harmful effects on our environment and suggested keeping multiple dustbins to segregate the bio-degradable and non-degradable waste which should start from the kitchen and mentioned the difficulties faced by TTC in the dumping ground in segregating the waste.

 

He encouraged all ward leaders to spread awareness on house to house basis so that the disposal of segregated waste can be a lot easier. ADC urged all to use the helpline for smooth functioning.

 

Dr Mero WHO also spoke on awareness of COVID-19 and the importance of vaccination. All Ward Union Tuensang Town, Vice President Imlikaba Anar, and TCCI President Ebesola I Chang delivered short speeches. TCCI Vice President, Puranchand Gupta gave the vote of thanks while TCCI Vice President, Y, Athula Yim chaired the programme.
