SJC alumni felicitate Dr Saju Mathew for 25 years of service

Dr Mathew was presented with a citation and certificate acknowledging his service, exemplary leadership and lasting influence on generations of students. The certificate was presented by alumni executives led by president Thepfuvizo Peter Vizo, general secretary Thekrunguno Audrey, vice president (administration) David Yhunsinlo Tep and media coordinator Max Marius Menuse-O.

In an interaction with Menuse-O, Dr Mathew said students had become more confident, competitive and ambitious since he joined the college in 2002, while retaining their warmth and affection.

Advising students to work hard, continue learning and develop digital skills, he urged them to invest in personal development even after securing employment. He said a Josephite should embody honesty, humility, discipline, compassion and respect for others, adding that true success lies in making a positive difference in people’s lives.

Recalling a memorable encounter with a former student at the NST bus terminal in Mokokchung, Dr Mathew said the student’s willingness to give up a university admission opportunity for his teacher had deeply touched him and reaffirmed the enduring bond between teachers and students.

Originally from Kerala, Dr Mathew expressed gratitude to the college, its students, colleagues, management and the people of Nagaland for making his journey meaningful and fulfilling.
