The Spices Board, under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has invited applications from eligible stakeholders to avail assistance under various components of the Sustainability in Spice Sector through Progressive, Innovative and Collaborative Interventions for Export Development (SPICED) Scheme for 2026–27.
According to a press release, the SPICED Scheme, which was approved for implementation during the 15th Finance Commission cycle up to the 2025–26 financial year, has been extended until September 30, 2026, or until approval of the proposed scheme for the 16th Finance Commission cycle, whichever is earlier.
The scheme aims to expand the cultivation area and improve the productivity of small and large cardamom, generate exportable surplus through better post-harvest management, promote spice exports, increase the share of value-added spice products in exports, ensure compliance with quality and safety standards, and strengthen capacity building and skill development across the spice sector.
The Board said eligible exporters, farmers, Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) and other stakeholders can submit applications online from July 1.
The last date for submission of online applications is August 31, 2026. The Board advised applicants to go through the scheme guidelines before applying, adding that incomplete applications or those received after the deadline are liable to be rejected.
Further details on the scheme and application process are available on the Spices Board website or at its nearest regional office.
