A four-member delegation from Nagaland representing four Primary Agricultural Cooperative Credit Societies (PACS) attended the 5th Foundation Day celebration of the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on July 6.

The programme was attended by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, along with other dignitaries, and highlighted the Government of India’s vision of strengthening the cooperative movement and promoting inclusive rural development through the cooperative sector.

The Nagaland delegation comprised Opangtemsu from Mokokchung district, Atsubou Sanchu and Khriehuto Yase from Kohima district, and Lhikhro Kreo from Chümoukedima district.

The delegates participated in the national event, which brought together representatives from across the country to discuss the role of cooperatives in rural development, economic empowerment and sustainable growth.

The delegation expressed gratitude to the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and the Department of Cooperation, Government of Nagaland, for providing them with the opportunity to participate in the event. They said the programme offered valuable exposure to national initiatives aimed at strengthening the cooperative sector and promoting greater collaboration among cooperative institutions across the country.
