Mokokchung, 1 November (MTNews): Joining the Foundation Day celebration of the 13 states and Union Territories of India, the Governor of Nagaland La Ganesan along with invitees from various communities and the Officers and staff of Raj Bhavan organized a program to commemorate the event at Dr Imkongliba Ao Hall, Raj Bhavan, Kohima on 1 November 2023.

States & Union Territories Foundation Day celebrated at Raj Bhavan Kohima

The Governor expressed his happiness for the gathering from different states and union territories and celebrated their Foundation Day with fervor at the Raj Bhavan. The states and union territories that celebrated their foundation Day on 1st November include Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Lakshadweep and Pondicherry, Delhi, Chandigarh, and Andaman & Nicobar Island.

“The Governor said that this auspicious gathering is a testament to the diverse beauty of our nation as part of the Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat program for national integration,” an update from the Raj Bhavan received here said.

The Governor mentioned that every state in India is unique and each with their own rich cultural traditions and heritage. He said that unity in diversity is what makes our country great. He added that every state in our diverse nation contributes a unique piece to the mosaic of Indian culture. The Governor encouraged everyone to remember that what unites us is more robust than what differentiates us.

The certificates of appreciation were handed over to the participants by the Governor.

On behalf of the states, Vice President, Malayali Samaj, Kohima, Shaji K from Kerela, Secretary of Nagaland Telugu Samaj Sankar Surada from Andhra Pradesh, and Addl. Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Nagaland Senthil Kumar M IFS shared their greetings to the gathering and also highlighted their state’s history, achievements, and contributions to the Nation. The Ladakh delegates also joined in the celebration.

Besides, Telugu cultural song and dance, Tamil patriotic song, Malayalam cultural song and dance were also performed by various groups. The welcome address was delivered by Secretary to Governor, Rajesh Soundararajan while the vote of thanks was pronounced by Jt. Secretary to Governor, Mhomo Tungoe.
