Mokokchung, 30 September (MTNews): As part of the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program, the Office of the Deputy Commissioner and District Election Office Mokokchung, in collaboration with the Nagaland Sports Association (NSA), conducted a two-day free football coaching and facilitation program.
The program aimed to raise awareness among participants about checking their enrollment status in the Electoral roll and provided an opportunity for eligible individuals to enroll on the spot. The event took place at Imkongmeren Sports Complex from 29th to 30th September, 2023.
The formal inaugural program on 29 September saw ADC Mokokchung, Chumlamo Humtsoe, addressing the gathering. He highlighted the significance of the SVEEP initiative by the Election Commission of India (ECI), emphasizing its role in creating electoral awareness among young electorates. He also underscored the program’s dual purpose, aiming to not only enrich participants’ football knowledge and skills but also foster a sense of civic duty.
The event was presided over by Assistant District Election Officer Mokokchung, Renben Mozhui, and commenced with an invocation prayer led by Dr Tiameren, a lecturer at CTC Aolichen. The program also featured a song performance by a student from CTC.
