Mokokchung, 01 October (MTNews): With an aim to equip and empower the church leaders with necessary tools and techniques to experience the fullness of life and for all round excellence, a Skill Development Program on the theme, ‘The Art of Life in Fullness’ was organized by ABAM for the Church Leaders of Zone 4 at its resource centre Kangtsüng (Aopenzü) from 28th to 30th Sept. 2023. The programme is designed in alignment with the UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

The program was inaugurated on 28 September by Rev Temshi Longkumer, President ABAM, Rev Dr L Lima Jamir, Vice-President, ABAM and Mr Maong Jamir, Finance & Property Secretary, ABAM followed by dedicatory prayer by Rev T Aliba Imchen, ABAM Resource Board Convenor.

 

In her keynote address, Dr Sentitula IFS, DFO Mokokchung, shared the importance of such a program for the church leaders in order to comprehensively and effectively respond to the problems of our generation.

 

She stated, “The world is changing faster than it ever did before. The world we live in today is rapidly changed by Artificial Intelligence. If the physical world is changing right before our very eyes, then we can easily imagine how many cataclysmic changes are being brought on the human consciousness, and it is this change, so powerful, yet so subtle, which is the matter of all our personal concern.”

 

She asked if the Church leaders today were prepared to understand the change, realize the urgency of new thinking, and imbued with the right vision.

 

The resource persons during the three-day program were Dr Sentitula; C Bendangonen Jamir, Mission Director, Chuchuyimlang Baptist Church; Dr Merenlemla Imchen, Rapha Physiotherapy Mokokchung; Dr Imtiwati, Asst Professor, College of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, Jalukie; Meyasashi, Director, Horticulture, Nagaland, Kohima; Ruokuosietuo Dzuvichu, District Soil Conservation Officer, Mokokchung; Senti Ao (Retd IAS), Padampukri, Dimapur; T Imlisunep, Principal, ITI Mokokchung; Martha Chakruno, ACTO (Plant Protection), KVK, Yisemyong; and Maong jamir, ABAM.

 

The topics covered during the program were Livestock Economy for Sustainability, Food Security and Employment Generation, Sustainable Agriculture, the Spring Rejuvenation and Water Conservation Methodologies, Overview of Rural Development, Skill Development, Living the Gospel, Homiletics, The Art of Life, and Christian Entrepreneurship.

 

All the evenings were packed with Praise and Worship led by Sanipong, Associate Pastor (Youth), Chuchuyimlang Baptist Church; Arenkaba, Associate Pastor (Youth), Kangtsung; and Imli, Associate Pastor (Youth),Tuli Town.

 

Devotions and meditations were led by Mr Alem, Pastor, Chami and Rev Moa, Pastor, Tuli. Ms. Tenlamongla Longkumer, Manager, ABAM Resource Centre collected the feedback of the participants for further improvement of the program. The program culminated with a prayer by Rev I Nukshi, Pastor, Merangkong Baptist Church.
