The 7th edition of the Master Shield Trophy organized by the Mokokchung District T20 Cricket Federation on game day 4 ended with Team Fuzz and Dynamic Sports Active registering their semifinal wins against Skylark CC and Trebuchet CC respectively, played at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex on Thursday.

 

 

 

The first semifinal match of the day witnessed a low scoring match played between Team Fuzz and Skylark where the latter won the toss and elected to bat first. Merenti and Longsasunep of Skylark contributed 18 and 17 runs each to the side’s total of 84 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs while Team Fuzz’s Sanjay and Raja troubled the already disoriented Skylark side with their bowling attack, taking out 3 and 2 wickets each.

 

An experienced Team Fuzz side chasing a low score of 85 runs ended the match short at just 9.3 overs with Vishal alone posting 34 runs. Skylark’s Tohuka and Aloto picked a wicket each but were in vain as Team Fuzz ended the match with 85/4, comfortably winning the match and securing their berth in the final. During the encounter Team Fuzz’s Vishal was awarded the man of the match title.

 

In an interesting 2nd semifinal match, defending champions Trebuchet CC won the toss against Dynamic Sports Active and elected to bat first, posting 129/7 in 20 overs with the contributions of Nripen and Menchet scoring 34 and 24 respectively. DSA’s Bhargav, Andrew and Rahul Kumar troubled the side as they scalped 2 wickets each.

 

Starting the DSA inning, Chaman and Raha Lama took on a strong stance as they posted 43 and 40 runs respectively, contributing to the winning score of 150 runs for 5 wickets in just 15.4 overs. Dynamic Sports Active’s Raja Lama was awarded the man of the match title.

 

The final match of the Mokokchung District T20 Cricket Federation’s 7th Master Shield Trophy will be played between Team Fuzz and Dynamic Sports Active from 12 noon on 17 March at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex.
