Training for New-born Stabilisation Units (NBSUs) conducted in Kohima

Kohima, August 13 (MTNews): A 3-day training for Medical Officers was held from 10th-12th August 2022 at De Oriental Grand Kohima for Newborn Stabilisation Units (NBSUs) in the Public sector. The training was organized by National Health Mission, Nagaland, and UNICEF to improve management of New-born in Health Facilities.

Dr. Thorhusie Katiry, Mission Director, NHM stressed on the importance of quality care in facilities and encouraged all Medical Officers for continued dedication at their respective places of work. Dr. Temjenstungla Jamir, Director (Medical Education) emphasized on quality capacity building of Health Care Workers and thanked UNICEF for its continued support to the state.

 

 

Clinical sessions were conducted by Dr. Khreimenuo Sr. Pediatrician (NHAK) and Dr Sanozulo , Pediatrician ( DH Longleng) including demonstrations at skill stations. Dr. Imkongtemsu Longchar ( State Nodal officer, Child Health) and Dr. Longri Kichu, UNICEF, deliberated on the importance of prioritising New-born Care as they remain the most vulnerable.

 

 

The participants consisted of Paediatricians, Medical Officers, and other specialists from all districts. The workshop focused on the survival of New-born through module reading, presentations, skill stations, and field visits to NHAK. The State has been consistently striving for delivery of quality health services to New-born in the State.
