Mokokchung, 28 February (MTNews): One-day training for Nodal Officers of Enforcement Agencies, in preparation for the upcoming 18th Lok Sabha Election in 2024, was held on February 29, 2024, at the DC Office Conference Hall in Mokokchung. The meeting was presided over by Thsuvisie Pheji, Deputy Commissioner, and District Election Officer of Mokokchung.

During the training session for Nodal Officers from various departments, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the urgency of election preparedness and urged the officers to enhance cooperation and coordination.

Renben Mozhui, Assistant Election Officer of Mokokchung, provided a briefing for the attendees. He urged security stakeholders to maintain vigilance, especially along the borders. The Excise department was tasked with enforcing regulations on liquor stocking and distribution, with a mandate to eradicate illicit alcohol production.

The department was also entrusted with combating narcotics smuggling along the border. In an effort to control any illicit financial flows, the AEO called upon the Taxes department to closely monitor suspected conduits for election-related cash influx.
