A 19-year-old victim lodged the FIR in this case at the Chaturshringi police station on Sunday.

The police said the complainant is a second-year BA student at Spicer College on Aundh Road. He and his friend, also 19, currently reside in Navi Sangvi and went to the Baner tekdi for an evening walk on Saturday.

Four unidentified men intercepted them around 7.30 pm. Pointing an iron-made weapon, the robbers threatened to kill the victims and snatched a cell phone and other valuables worth Rs 20,000, the police said.

As stated in the FIR, when the complainant refused to give the password of his cell phone to the robbers, they allegedly attacked him on his knees, leaving him injured. As the complainant then shouted for help, the robbers fled from the spot. The injured teenager was provided treatment at the government hospital in Aundh.

In March 2022, a central government employee and his woman friend, who were out for a walk on Baner Hill, were looted by three people who threatened to kill them and forced them to make digital transfers of Rs 76,000.
