Reigning Nations League champion Spain will face the Netherlands in the quarterfinals, while former titleholder France takes on Croatia, following the draw for the knockout stage held in Nyon on Friday.
Germany has been paired with Italy, while Portugal, the winner of the inaugural Nations League edition, will meet Denmark.
Spain, the defending champion, secured the title in the last edition by defeating Croatia on penalties in the final. They also finished as runners-up in the 2020-21 tournament.
The winner of the Spain-Netherlands matchup will progress to a semifinal against either France or Croatia. In the other semifinal, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal could face the victor of the Germany-Italy clash. Portugal won the inaugural title in 2019, while France claimed the trophy two years later.
This year marks the first edition to include quarterfinals, featuring the top two teams from each group. In previous editions, only the group winners advanced directly to the semifinals.
The quarterfinals will be played over two legs, scheduled for March 20 and 23, 2025. The second-leg matches will be hosted by the seeded teams. The semifinals will be single-leg ties held on June 4 and 5, 2025, with the third-place match and final set for June 8. The venue for the semifinals and final is yet to be announced.
