Wokha, 29 May (MTNews): The Wokha District Chamber of Commerce & Industry (WDCCI) has issued a digital circular, notifying all non-indigenous individuals engaged in business activities within the district to obtain a valid Inner Line Permit (ILP) from the concerned authority. This requirement applies to individuals involved in various business operations, including running shops, stores, supplying commodities/materials, and those working as skilled or unskilled laborers in construction projects.

The WDCCI said it will not support or encourage non-indigenous individuals or groups to conduct business activities without a valid ILP in the Wokha District. The ILP serves as a crucial document to regulate the entry and stay of individuals from outside the district in accordance with local laws and regulations.

To ensure compliance, the WDCCI said that it may carry out random checks of ILP documents as and when required. If any individuals are found to be without the required ILP during these random drives, the chamber informed that they will forward all those defaulters to the administration and the authority is expected to do the needful within 24 hours.

The office of the WDCCI also appealed to all denizens to extend cooperation at the time of carrying out such activities within the district, as it will help in streamlining and sensitizing the market as well as in monitoring a potential influx of IBIs. Further, the landlords have been urged to verify and obtain required documents from the non-indigenous inhabitants before they rent out their properties.
