The Nagaland Rifle Association (NRA) has announced the 4th Pre-State Shooting Championship 2025, set to take place from May 27 to 31 in Dimapur. The event will be conducted in the Small Bore Rifle and Pistol (NR) categories, and organized in collaboration with Aries Rifle & Pistol Shooting Academy, Khelo India Centre.
The matches will be held across two venues: Aries Rifle & Pistol Shooting Academy, Khelo India Centre, and Aries Sports Complex Shooting Ranges, Bamunpukhuri-I, Dimapur. The competition will be held strictly under the National and ISSF rules, and is open to registered shooters from affiliated district associations, clubs, and academies within Nagaland.
Participants must be officially registered, and entries will only be accepted through their respective associations. The last date for normal registration is 6:30 PM on May 22, while late entries (with triple the entry fee) will be accepted until 6:30 PM on May 26. No adjustments in match schedules or lane allocations will be entertained, and participants are required to report 90 minutes prior to their designated time.
The event includes a wide range of age-specific categories:
• Sub Youth: Born in 2009 or later
• Youth: Born in 2006 or later
• Junior: Born in 2004 or later
• Masters: Ages 45–60
• Senior Masters: Ages 60–70
• Super Masters: 70+
Younger participants are permitted to compete in higher categories, with the exception of Masters and Senior Masters events. Shooters must also ensure they possess a valid Shooter ID, obtainable via the NRAI website.
Protests during the competition will carry a fee of Rs 200, with appeals to the jury costing Rs 500, both refundable if upheld. Organizers have reiterated that discipline on and off the range is mandatory, and that shooting practice in hotels is strictly prohibited.
