Kohima, 25 March (MTNews): 54 top contenders are set to compete in the 29th Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) Championship 2024, scheduled to take place on Tuesday at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Kohima. Each of the three participating associations—Angami Sports Association, Chakhesang Wrestling Association, and Zeliang Wrestling Association—will be represented by 18 wrestlers.

Adilet Bayaman Uulu, President of the World Alysh Federation, will grace the event as the Chief Guest. Additionally, Cholpan Sultanbekova, President of United World Wrestling, and Omarmukhtar Tamboli, President of the Asian Alyst Federation, will be honored guests.

President of Nagaland Olympic Association and Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio, and Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang would be the Host and Co-host.

A ninety-year-old, Mamho Chakrüno, has been selected as the Championship Ambassador, marking a historic first for the NWA Championship. The defending champion, Venuzo Dawhuo, representing the Chakhesang Wrestling Association, will lead the torch procession.

Tickets for the championship are priced at Rs 100, Rs 500 for chairs, Rs 1000 for premium chairs, Rs 3000 for donors, and Rs 10000 for patrons.
