The second day of the 73rd Senior National Basketball Championship being played in Ludhiana witnessed Nagaland’s teams exhibiting unwavering determination and skill, captivating audiences with their electrifying performances on the court.

In a gripping men’s encounter against Manipur, the Nagaland team showcased a remarkable fightback in the second half after trailing 38-26 in the initial period. Led by the captain Salew Kadete, who contributed an impressive 20 points, alongside Seyievizo Kire and Thejagulie Mekro with 16 and 10 points respectively, Nagaland’s resurgence displayed their resilience and unwavering spirit to eventually defeat Manipur 77-68.

Meanwhile, in the women’s fixture, the Nagaland team displayed commendable prowess against the formidable Jammu & Kashmir squad, despite falling short with a final score of 26-33. Ravolu, Pele Kuotsu, and Reena Rai delivered commendable performances, contributing 6 points each to their team’s tally.

As the championship progresses, tomorrow’s schedule promises more thrilling clashes. The Nagaland men’s team will play two matches on Tuesday. The first match will be against Himachal Pradesh (8:15 am, Court 3) and the second match will be against Andhra Pradesh (7:00 pm – Court 2). Meanwhile, the Nagaland women’s team will play against Rajasthan (3:15 pm – Court 2)).
