Hills Night School, Mokokchung celebrated “an evening to put a spotlight on homegrown talents” show at Gorkha Students Union Hall, Arkong Ward on Friday.

 

 

 

 

Waden, Teacher In-charge, Hills Night School, stated during a brief welcome note that 2022 is also the year the school celebrates its Golden Jubilee, adding that when the school first opened in 1972, it was named Model Night High School but was later renamed Hills Night School with the goal of providing education to individuals who were unable to obtain formal day schooling.

 

Shijung, Ex Teacher, Hills Night School, stressed the importance of skills and talents in addition to bookish knowledge, noting that today’s modern society requires one to be well versed and have specific expertise in one’s respective skills and talents, noting that government jobs are not the only way one can sustain themselves.

 

He went on to encourage the students to be confident and courageous in exhibiting their abilities to the world, noting that in order to achieve, one should not limit their potential.

 

He also advised teachers to be role models and mold pupils for a bright future so that they will be remembered by the students for the rest of their lives.

 

Earlier, the program’s musical presentations, drama, fashion exhibition, dance, poetry enumeration, and Scripture reading wowed the audience.
