Mokokchung, December 15 (MTNews): Leader of NPF Legislature Party, Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu today categorically asserted that if the Central Government is sincere on the solving the Naga political issue, then it will table it in the ongoing winter Parliament session from 7 to 29 December.
He said if the Naga issue is tabled in the Parliament session, then the forthcoming general election may be withheld and will not be held as scheduled but added that if the Naga issue is not tabled in the session, then the election is imminent and will be held as scheduled.
Azo said this while addressing the Golden Jubilee celebration of Kutsapo Sports Association as chief guest, according to a press communiqué from the NPF Press Bureau received here today.
Azo also demanded that before the final inking of the decade old Naga political issue, the common draft of the agreement between the Naga political groups and the Government of India should be placed on the public domain for public consumption.
He maintained that if the Central Government is serious in bringing a practical solution to the Naga political issue, then it should not hesitate or prolong but deliver justice to the Naga people at the earliest.
The NPF leader also asserted that the NPF is committed to facilitating in bringing a final solution to the Naga political issue which is honorable, acceptable and inclusive and that the priority of the party is for early settlement to the Naga political problem. He also added that the present UDA partners are committed towards bringing solution and not election.
Meanwhile, exhorting the gathering in the Golden Jubilee celebration, Azo said that Jubilee is a time of celebration but maintained that celebration alone is meaningless but it should also be a time to reconcile, forget and forgive and let bygones be bygone and continue the friendship amongst us to prosper.
Stating that 50 years celebration is remarkable, Azo said that it is a time to retrospect and introspect “where we need a room for improvement to develop and foster our human values.”
He also asked the games and sports contingents to put God first and be sincere and dedicated in their respective fields of activity so that they can achieve at the highest level. He also said that in God’s dictionary, nothing is impossible and in the fool’s dictionary, many things will be impossible. Therefore, the chief guest of the Jubilee encouraged the contingents to be committed, dedicated and put God first.
During the occasion, DC Phek Kumar Ramnikant, SP Phek Bharat Laxman Markad and 5th NAP Commandant Y Ngullie also greeted the gathering.
