Mokokchung, 15 January (MTNews): After a successful Yatra in Manipur, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi reached Khuzama for a night halt on the evening of 15 January as part of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. The Nagaland leg of the Yatra is scheduled to kick off from Viswema, Kohima, at 8 am on 16 January.

Tomorrow, at around 9:00 am, Rahul Gandhi is expected to participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at the WW-II Cemetery, followed by a walk down to the Phulbari area in Kohima. He will then address the public at Phulbari, Kohima Town, from the Yatra Bus at 9:30 am. The Yatra is set to resume at 10 am from Phulbari.

The schedule for the day includes a lunch break at DIET Institute Ground, Chiechama, at 12:00 noon. The Yatra will resume from Chiechama at 2:00 pm, with public addresses scheduled at Tseminyu at 2:30 pm and Wokha Town at 3:30 pm. The day will conclude with a night halt at Chukitong Town at 5:00 pm.

On 17 January 2024, Wednesday, the Yatra will resume from Chukitong Town at 8 am, reaching VK Town at 9 am. Rahul Gandhi is expected to address the public from the Yatra Bus at 9 am. At 10:30 am, he will address the public at Mokokchung Town, followed by an interaction at Amoklushi Chuchuyimpang from 11:30 am to 12:00 noon.

A lunch break is scheduled for 12:00 noon, and the Yatra will resume at 2:00 pm. The Yatra will continue with a visit to Gandhi Ashram in Chuchuyimlang at 3:00 pm, a public address from the Yatra Bus in Changtongya at 4:00 pm, and arrival at Tuli Town for the night halt at 5:30 pm.

On 18 January, Thursday, the Yatra will depart for Amguri (Assam) at 8:00 am.

Earlier, on the second day of the yatra, he interacted with the public in Manipur after which he travelled by road along the National Highway. On the way, Gandhi interacted with the villagers and also held brief meetings at two places before crossing the Mao Gate. While addressing a public meeting held at Senapati district, Gandhi said that the purpose of starting the Nyay Yatra from Manipur was to make the people aware of what the people of Manipur have been going through these days. He said that he feels the pain and tragedy the affected families have gone through due to the violence in the State. Gandhi also expressed hopefulness that the peace and harmony will return to Manipur as soon as possible.
