The second semi-final clash of the ongoing 23rd Inter-District Football Championship, Dr. T. Ao Trophy 2024 on Thursday at Loyem Memorial Astro Turf, Tuensang between Peren and Mon was halted mid-way due to bad weather conditions. Dense fog that enveloped the pitch, prompting the NFA to halt the match due to poor visibility and will be replayed from the remaining time in accordance with the by-law of the NFA at 7 am on September 27.

The match is set to resume with a scoreline of 1-0, with the goal scored by Arap Konyak from Mon in the 45th minute. The winner will face Tuensang in what promises to be a fiercely contested final.

Earlier, Nagaland Football Association (NFA) XI secure a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Host District XI in an exhibition match at Loyem Memorial Astro Turf, Tuensang Town.

Friday’s match will determine which team will face Tuensang in the final.

Tuensang had previously secured their spot in the final with a match against Niuland. Ayenmongba and Beshang scored the winning goals for Tuensang, while Niuland managed to score only a lone goal through Toka.
