On the occasion of the release of the 19th installment of funds under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, KVK Zunheboto, in collaboration with Nagaland University, organized a special program for farmers from nine villages. The event was aimed at raising awareness and encouraging the adoption of modern agricultural technologies.
Dr Rakesh Kumar Chaurasia, Principal Scientist and Head of KVK Zunheboto, welcomed the participants and briefed them about the importance of the PM Kisan Program. He urged the farmers to adopt innovative farming techniques to improve yield and increase income generation. To recognize outstanding contributions, five farmers from different villages were presented citations for their exemplary performance in the field.
The special guest, Kahoshe Sumi, Deputy Registrar (GAD) of Nagaland University, also addressed the gathering, urging the farmers to stay proactive in embracing new farming techniques and technologies to improve their livelihoods.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Visakho Shunyu, CTO (AGR/PB&G), and the chairperson, Yangermongla, Assistant at KVK Zunheboto.
In addition to the formal proceedings, participants were shown various natural farming technologies by Naropongla (STO) and were introduced to locally available germplasms of paddy, oilseeds, and pulse crops. The event also featured an animal health camp, where farmers received free veterinary medicines to address common ailments in poultry and piggery.
